TACTICAL STREAM is a series of group exhibitions where artists continue to resist the Trump presidency, founded and curated by Theresa Byrnes. In these exhibitions, artists continue to resist the Trump presidency. There have been six TS exhibitions since 2017 with over 50 exhibiting artists, including Tom Otterness, Heide Hatry, Alan Kaufman, Anthony Zito, Qinza Najm, and Maria de Los Angeles. And .14 performances including Penny Arcade, Felice Rosser, Bina Sharif, Chris Rael & 3 panels with 13 panelists,” What to make now?”, “Body, country, earth.” “ Off the grid”.
TACTICAL STREAM #1, “Dump Trump & see what grows,” was held in January 2017 and gave artists a platform to vent and develop a political voice.
TACTICAL STREAM #2 “My body, my country, my earth” April 2017 was specific to women’s health & claiming rights over our bodies.
TACTICAL STREAM #3 REFUSE FASCISM July 2018, a reaction to family separations at the border, with a flat-out refusal of fascism.
TACTICAL STREAM #4 THE SNAKE “power without control” 2018, sensing the impending collapse of the American (capitalist) empire - political power without self-control.
TACTICAL STREAM #5 “FREE” July 2019, The cost of freedom to humanity is well concealed, buried in layers of biological and bureaucratic processes. The final fee takes time to reveal itself. Climate Change Is the Symptom. Consumer Culture Is the Disease. Colonialism is the genetic trigger.
TACTICAL STREAM #6 CON VIDA -make america indigenous again! Oct. 2020, we do NOT want life back to how it was before COVID-19- we are earthlings, not cogs in a parasitic, unsustainable global economy.
